Heart Flower — Be Mine Valentine Hop

Hello friends! Today I am super excited about the hop because one of you can win a $40 gift card to CutCardStock. Now, let me tell you something….$40 can go along way in the store because the prices are rock bottom! The inventory is huge too with paper, stationary items and ribbon. In order to be entered for a chance to win you must comment at each stop along the hop or upload a project that includes product from CutCardStock.

Heart Flower

I made a flower from hearts created from one sheet of cardstock.

I used one sheet of paper from this pack:

First cut 3 small hearts ( I started mine at 2 inches), 4 medium hearts, and 5 large hearts.

Distress the edges…

Now ink them.

Place them on a brad from smallest to largest fanning them out with each placement.

Starting on the inside of the flower crumple each heart until you are left with what looks like a piece of trash.

To make the flower bloom simply peel back each heart. Pop a center if you want to complete it.

Hop List

Now it’s time to hop on to the next wonderful crafter. Make sure you leave a comment at each stop.

Sharing Some Love

One of my favorite things to do is share other artists, crafters and designers. Usually I do this on Instagram and Facebook. This year one of my goals is to share more of what other creators are doing on my blog! My hope is to bring you new content and inspiration and help them grow. I thought there was nothing better on Valentine’s Day than to share some of their favorite projects for this Hallmark holiday. Please click through and check out all these incredible creators! Follow and sub to their channels. We would not be able to do what we do if it were not for you! So thank you for reading, watching, commenting, and subscribing. It really is appreciated!

Happy Singles Awareness Day!

Valentine’s Day is my least favorite holiday. Every year when it rolls around I groan a little. I don’t have any particular reason on why I do not like it. It does bring a smirk on my face when I can create sarcastic cards for it though. Joy Clair has a new stamp set that is perfect for all the folks out there who don’t like cupid and his holiday. It is perfectly title “#Single”. I created this card using the new stamp set:

How to Create “Happy Singles Awareness Day!” Card

Tim Holtz Distress Oxide is how I created the background. When working with water based pigments it is important to keep the color theory in mind. Basically you want to keep all your red undertone colors(warms) together and blue undertone colors (cools) together. If you mix them you will get mud. That is okay if it is the look you are going for, but if not don’t mix things like green and red. The color that is the exception to this rule is purple. The only colors you can mix purple with are red OR blue. If you mix it with any other color you will get mud for this card I stuck with pink, red and purple (on the bottom).

This card has a square cut out that was created to use as a shaker. It also looks cute with an image in the box. I stamped the hearts and colored them in. I finished them off with a little clear glaze by Nuvo and Dew Drops.

After the sentiment had been stamped on the bottom, three coordinating ones were stamped along the bottom and finished off with the Nuvo Clear Glaze.

If the card front was not enough to make the recipient giggle the inside is sure to do so.

Do you like Valentine’s Day? Let me know in the comments!

Make sure to hop through all these amazing designers to see more of the new releases!

I am over on the Rinea blog with an amped up Valentine’s Day inspired Chain! This is a great way to add a little festive love to your home. Valentine Day ATCs

I am feeling the love right now and decided to create some Valentine theme ATCs using Calico Collage Primitive Hearts and Beauty Secret ATC Bases . I used different parts of pink dollies I have from a set I found on sale at Micheal’s as an embellishment and to keep me interested in finishing all of them – ha! I don’t do well repeating the same thing multiple times. I like variety! The dollies allowed everything to match, but not identical. I made a short tutorial on how to make them here:

Here is a few pictures of the finished set:
