Witch Please….

When I saw this stamp set last year I knew I had to have it! Witch Please…. is a Brutus Monroe Stamp Set that is probably one of the Halloween favorite with that company. It is perfect for those that have a sarcastic and/or sassy personality.

To create this card I took a piece of mixed media cardstock and covered it with Colorburst. As that dried I die cut two circles and stamped my image along with the sentiment on a piece of white cardstock.

This card is going to go through the mail, so I made it flat. I added some little dew drops for a touch of dimension.

Sometimes you just have to get a little messy 🙂

Friendly Spooks!

I am committed to only using my stash this year to create Fall cards. I was tickled when I ran across one of my favorite stamp set by Brutus Monroe for Halloween! I adore this set because there are a few different characters that are the perfect size to color in with sentiments. The best part is they resemble Halloween, but are not so spooky that could be given to a child. I made three cards with the set.

The first one is a black and white card:

I added a little red just for some personality.

Once I colored in my character I used my Scan n Cut to fussy cut him for me. I left a border on him and used pop dots to adhere to my card.

The spider I found on clearance last year (after Halloween) at my local craft store. He came in a set of nine!

Isn’t this the friendlies Frankenstein you have ever seen? I just love this little guy!

I used Nuvo Dew Drops on all of these cards including this one! I can’t believe how often I pull them out to add that little extra something to a card.

I used my copic markers to color him in. I did not care so much about sticking to color families because I wanted him to look a little dingy.

I saved my favorite for last! This is hands down my favorite character from the stamp set! I also love him with that sentiment.

Every time I see him I smile.

What Halloween character is your favorite? Even if you don’t have an image of that character in your stash you can use it as inspiration to create something spooky this Halloween!

How to Mask A Stamped Image

I know yesterday was the fantastic blog hop with Rita Barakat’s new stamps! If you missed it, don’t worry! Just go to my post yesterday and hop today. I am loving these new stamps she created with Technique Junkies and had to make a few sweet ATC with them. I used a hodge podge of supplies from my stash and I show you how here in this video:

Here are a few pictures of the ATC I created in the video:

I like these so much I don’t think I am ready to trade them. I have added them to my ATC binder and can’t wait to make some more!

Colorburst Tips!

I get a lot of questions on how to use Colorburst without ending up with a puddle of muddy brown. I am going to share with you three principles that will help you achieve the beautiful colors you want on your projects. These tips do not only apply to Colorburst, but to any kind of water based paints and mists.
1) Keep your blue tones together. Only use blue with greens and even yellows if you are going for green.
2) Keep your warm tones together. Only use red with pinks, oranges and yellow if you are going for orange.
3) Only use purple with blue OR red. Purple will turn everything brown. If you mix purple with blue and green you will get brown. If you mix it with red and orange you will get brown. So, either use it alone of with just blue or just red.
These cards along with the products I used are featured on the Brutus Monroe Blog .

Walking in my Shoes

I fell in love with the new Dyary line from Dylusions. Well, let’s face it…I like everything Dylusions comes out with! However, this month they released an amazing new large planner! Now, I need another planner like I need a hole in my head. However, her planners (that she calls Dyary) are awesome because they have her beautiful background pages in them. I hate my handwriting and need lines to write, so I thought this would make a great Quotes journal!

Here are the links to the supplies I used to create this into page into my journal:
I am starting a new series on my channel, Behind the Art, in which I am creating. The camera is above my work station and I have sped up the video and turned off the sound. My first episode was creating this! Please check it out and leave me some feedback. Do you like it? How do you feel about no sound? Was it to fast or just right?
