Hosting a Launch Party!

Little Birdie Crafts is finally making it’s way to the USA and I had the privilege of lunching a party for them at my favorite local craft store. They sent yummy mixed media scrapbook supplies for a Baby Boy theme. My friend, Resa created an amazing diaper cake, banner and samples. The Paper Collage invited 20 crafters to play with the new line.

The ladies made sweet cards for foster families that recently had a baby boy added to their family. Here are a few of the many cards they created:

These ladies were pushed beyond their normal crafty limits. Most of them no longer had babies and are clean and simple card makers. They had a blast trying new mediums they have been intimidated by in the past AND creating for a great cause.

Little Birdie is a wonderful company based in India. They employ underprivileged women to create handmade flowers. These women earn fair wages to support their family. The products may look like things you have seen before, but they are unique. Little Birdie bridges scrapbooking and mixed media effortlessly. For example, their paper is a patterned mixed media substrate like none other. It can withstand lots of wet mediums and has gorgeous patterns that can stand alone. A Day with my Girls in Scottsdale

My friends from The Paper Collage and I had a fabulous day in Scottsdale Arizona. We started off the day with vintage inspiration at a local market. We then made our way to Central Phoenix for a lovely lunch at Bianco — one of the nation’s best Italian food restaurants.

After lunch we window shopped in Old Town Scottsdale. It was fun, but not nearly as fun as checking out the beautiful cactus and flowers in the heart of it all.

We had a lot of laughs too! Everything from the nasty coffee we so desperately searched for to trying to get just the right picture of the same thing.

We all had a wonderful time and look forward to our next day together. What is your favorite thing to do with your friends? Tell me in the comment section.
